Manufacturing gears is kidsplay for us.

Officine Vecchi has a century old history made of work and passion, values passed down from generation to generation.

In fact, they have been experts in precision mechanics and milling of gears for over 100 years.

Our services:

The past

Sound values deep-rooted in an enterprise that has made precision and attention to customer demands its core assets. Many years have gone by since the founder, Comm. Antonio Vecchi, laid the foundations of this company during which experience has escalated to become precious know-how to be passed down and shared with sons and daughters to start with, then to the grandchildren.

The future

As years went by, the new generations have brought in new technologies and innovation to meet market and customer demands in this sector. Passion and work are still the driving force of the founder's heirs and all company employees.

Design & Engineering

Over the years, Officine Vecchi has always embraced the challenges and requirements posed by changing markets. Based on such feedback, the Vecchi family realised that increasingly often, customers not only needed finished parts, but first and foremost they needed ad hoc design, engineering and consulting services.

To successfully meet such demands, the company decided to invest in design & engineering and it now has an in-house department that supports customers in developing special reduction gears, kinematics or machinery that do not exist on the market.

Thanks to corporate know-how, combined with the most sophisticated and innovative software, Officine Vecchi is able to support and assist you in the construction of all types of kinematics.

Gears

We are experts in gears as we have operating in this sector for four generations and for this reason we are the ideal partner for those requiring medium and large sized gears. Our processing departments design and manufacture in-house:

  • gears with internal and external diameters of up to 4,000 mm - modulus 30
  • straight-toothed bevel gear up to 1,000 mm in diameter - modulus 30
  • racks of up to 5,000 mm in length - modulus 30

We can produce all types of gear teeth with a modulus or diameter

  • Pitch
  • DIN5480
  • DIN5482
  • UNI 220
  • UNI221
  • UNI222

All the calculations needed to size gears and housings are overseen by our expert staff using special software to guarantee accuracy.

Reduction gears

Geared power transmission is one of the main problems that are often encountered when constructing a machine. Our know-how and expertise has developed when facing different demands for different applications, and it is thanks to this wide variety that we are currently able to design and engineer special reduction gears of all types:

  • parallel axle gears
  • coaxial gears
  • orthogonal gears
  • epicycloidal gears
  • worm gears
  • eccentric controlled gears
  • combined systems

We are also able to provide expert prompt servicing and maintenance services for all speed reduction gears regardless of type, model and size.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any information you may require on any particular mechanical drives, we will be able to engineer a customised solution to suit your needs.

Our history

Officine Vecchi was founded in 1909 by Arnaldo Vecchi and specialised in machinery and components for the textile industry. Despite many difficulties and harsh times of this era, the quality of its work is what allowed the Vecchi family to expand the workshop employing 70 operators and technical staff.

In 1959 his son, Antonio Vecchi used his entrepreneurial skills to expand the processing department and viewed in the production of gears and special reduction gears an exceptionally interesting niche market. A winning move that allowed the workshop to be recognised as a reference firm for these components which can be researched and tailor made to suit all different sectors: from the food industry to steel works, from earth movement to plastics. Each sector has its own specific drawbacks and, thanks to its vast experience, the Officine Vecchi is capable of manufacturing machinery and special parts specially researched to meet the specific demands of every customer. Today, four generations later, the experience and same passion as before is placed at the disposal of its customers.
